The Assam Inland Water Transport Project (AIWTP) has sought the World Bank’s support in implementing water metro services, development of tourism services and trade connectivity services (integrated terminals with freight RoRo vessels and handling facilities) in the State.
About Assam Inland Water Transport Project (AIWTP):
The Government of Assam (GoA) has taken up a Project titled ‘Assam Inland Water Transport Project’ to transform the quality of inland water transport services and integrate high quality passenger and vehicle ferry services into Assam’s wider transport network system with the financial assistance from the World Bank.
